Over age 23
(Português) Provas e concurso
The special tests designed to assess the capacity of individuals over the age of 23 years to attend higher education programs are intended for those who have turned 23 years old by December 31 of the previous year and are interested in continuing their studies.
These tests aim to facilitate access to higher education for applicants who demonstrate that they have the skills to attend a higher education program, even if they have not completed Primary or Secondary Education and/or do not attend a higher education program, but do not meet the application conditions of the National Admissions Process in the respective year.
The Tests for Individuals over 23 years of age consist of a written test on specific knowledge and an interview to assess the applicant’s academic and professional background and motivations and whether the applicant has the essential knowledge and skills to gain entry and make progress in the intended program.
Passing the Test for Individuals over 23 years (M23) of age is a prerequisite to applying to an IPVC licentiate degree or professional and technical program through the special admissions process for this age group, regardless of the level of academic qualifications.
The admissions process is intended for applicants who, cumulatively:
Applicants who have either graduated from a secondary education program or have the equivalent qualification or have even graduated from a higher education program but have not taken the entrance exams (national secondary education exams) for the intended cycle of studies can still register.
Tests administered in other Higher Education Institutions:
Applicants who have passed entrance examinations at other public higher education institutions may be allowed to register and enroll in IPVC programs, provided that the tests appropriately assess their ability to attend the intended higher education program at IPVC.
The interested party must request the necessary suitability statement from the scientific council of the school where the applicant wishes to register and enroll. The scientific council can only refuse to issue it on the grounds of manifest unsuitability of the tests taken by the applicant to assess their ability to attend the intended IPVC higher education program. The scientific council shall request a reasoned opinion from the test panel on the suitability of the test(s) administered in another educational institution(s).
