Accreditation/Certification of Skills
The process of recognizing and accrediting/certifying skills so that students may continue their studies and obtain an academic degree or diploma is regulated by Order No. 4872/2016, subsequently amended by Order No. 9946/2019.
In its cycle of studies, IPVC accredits a student’s educational activity within the following scope:
Accreditation of activity in higher education, professional experience, or other training, particularly post-secondary training, refers to recognizing the student’s knowledge and skills.
Through the accreditation process, the student may continue their studies in a given higher education program. The competent bodies of each higher education institution recognize that a student already possesses the knowledge and skills that they are expected to attain by attending and passing a given curricular unit(s). Therefore, the student is exempted from taking them.
So that students may continue their studies to obtain an academic degree or diploma, higher education institutions:

It only makes sense to request an assessment of the training and skills that the student can prove they have within the scientific area of the program in which they are enrolled, as provided by paragraph 2 of article 45 of Decree-law No. 74/2006 of March 24, amended by Decree-law No. 107/2008 of June 25. Accreditation takes into account the level of credits and the scientific area.
Accreditation requirements should be set forth in the IPVC regulation for accreditation of skills.
Yes. Upon submitting a request for accreditation, the applicant shall pay the amount provided in the IPVC fees table in effect.
