Access to Graduates
The special admissions process for a licentiate degree program is intended for:
Every year, a notice is published for these admissions processes with all the information about them.
Information for the present year should be consulted.
Applications for the special admissions process are submitted through the https://candidaturas.ipvc.pt/
Applicants can apply via the special admissions process in a single application period, which is defined annually by order of the IPVC President (usually in the months of July-August).
The submitted applications are analyzed, and the respective candidates are ranked by the beginning of September, by the date defined in the notice for each special admissions process.
The rules for ranking candidates should be consulted in the Regulation for Readmissions, Institution/Program Transfers, and Special Admissions – Order no. 6946/2020.
The number of openings for each program and for each admissions process is limited and set annually by IPVC.
However, the remaining openings of the general regime for access to licentiate degree programs (national admissions process) can be filled up to the fixed limit, based on the following precedence:

The holders of a Specialist Diploma in Technology, obtained after completing a Specialization Program in Technology, may apply to a higher education program through the special admissions process for the programs previously determined by the legal and statutory body of the higher education institution or for the programs defined under the protocols signed between non-higher education institutions and the higher education institution, as provided by subitem c) of article 10 of Decree-law 393-B/99 of October 2, amended by Ordinance No. 854-A/99 of October 4.
The application process takes place in the higher education institution where the student plans to attend, and this institution determines the rules for ranking candidates as well as the number of openings.
Applications must be submitted online through the IPVC platform.

The holders of a professional and technical Diploma, obtained after completing a Professional and Technical program, may apply to a higher education program through the special admissions process for the programs previously determined by the legal and statutory body of the higher education institution or for the programs defined under the protocols signed between non-higher education institutions and the higher education institution, as provided by subitem c) of article 10 of Decree-law 393-B/99 of October 2, amended by Ordinance No. 854-A/99 of October 4.

Those who have graduated from a higher education program may apply to a higher education program through the special admissions process intended for them, pursuant to subitems a) and b) of article 10 of Decree-law No. 393-B/99 of October 2, amended by Ordinance No. 854-A/99 of October 4.

Graduates of a higher education program may also apply to a higher education program through the National Admissions (public higher education) or Institutional Admissions (private higher education) processes, provided that they meet the conditions set forth in the respective annual regulations.
If you have taken the special tests designed to assess the capacity of individuals over the age of 23 years to attend higher education programs, you may apply to the program of your choice through the special admissions process of the higher education institution where you took the test and plan to attend, observing the deadlines legally established for this purpose and the conditions and ranking criteria set by the higher education institution. You must also meet the prerequisites, when required, as provided by Decree-law No. 393-B/99 of October 2 and Decree-law No. 64/2006 of March 21.

for those who hold dual certification for secondary education programs and certification for specialized artistic programs.
The special admissions process is voluntary, and it is open to higher education institutions, universities, and polytechnic schools, which are now able to provide a new via for admissions into licentiate degree programs which is appropriate to the specific qualifications of graduates of the educational and training programs covered by this Decree-law.
Admission through this process requires taking a prior entrance exam. All information about tests, deadlines, and applications can be found here.
All students, including those in vocational programs, can also apply to all the programs through the National Admissions Process. In these cases, it is possible for students on a vocational track at the secondary level to take the national final exams, according to the entrance examinations required for admission into a higher education program, when they intend to enter cycles of study that only allow admission through tracks suitable for students with a scientific, humanistic background.

The request for accreditation must be submitted after registration/enrollment by the deadlines set forth in the IPVC regulation for accreditation of skills.
Applications must be submitted online through the IPVC platform.
After completing the application form, a Multibanco (ATM) reference number will be assigned for payment of the fee, which must be made by the application deadline, otherwise the application will be automatically rejected.
The respective proof of payment is made available after payment, and the Multibanco (ATM) receipt should be attached.
It is not possible to submit applications after the deadline.
Even if the application may meet the necessary general conditions, it is automatically rejected if submitted outside the deadline.
