Presentation
The specialised Sports Training programme, with a very strong component of know-how added to in-depth study of scientific, technical, professional and methodological expertise, is aimed at allowing students to obtain high-level professional certification. The curricular structure of the master’s degree and the internship component, to be done in the second year, with well-known sporting bodies, is aimed at requesting Sports Coach Level II accreditation from the IPDJ. In the second year, students can also choose to do a scientific dissertation.
Career progression
This course is recognised by the DGAE | Directorate General for School Administration for career progression for teaching staff.

In accordance with the Regulations on Study Cycles leading to a Master’s Degree at the Polytechnic University of Viana do Castelo, the following may apply for the Master’s Degree Course in Sports Training:

Aims
To develop and consolidate expertise and scientific skills in the area of Sports Training so that these can be applied autonomously and originally in the context of the profession of sports coach.
