Pedagogical Project
The GDL programme, like all ESCE bachelor’s degree courses, is also involved in the pedagogical project: Integrated Project
The Integrated Leaders for the Future Project is an essential and compulsory component of the training in certain curricular units of the Bachelor’s Degree Course in Distribution and Logistics Management. The main learning outcomes of this project are:
- To enhance students’ capacity to integrate and apply the theoretical concepts taught throughout the course. This provides an opportunity to compare the theories learned with current professional practices, thereby strengthening their professional expertise and effectiveness.
- To develop students’ skills in areas deemed essential for advancing and enriching their professional endeavours.
- To provide a practical perspective of the business reality by formulating ideas with the potential for developing business plans.
- To provide students with the tools for designing, implementing, monitoring and managing their own business.
- To foster an entrepreneurial mindset and cultivate a culture of ethics and proactivity through projects that address challenges and enhance organisational processes.
- To enhance planning and disciplinary skills in order to address challenges across different training areas.
- To stimulate interest in research as a means to solve problems.
- To encourage and guide students in their search for knowledge, highlighting the importance of self-development throughout their professional career.
Through this project, students learn work methodologies mirroring those used in real-world professional settings. Additionally, if the project comes to fruition, it can contribute to promoting and enhancing Alto Minho and the region’s economic development.
Research projects
In the 2020/2021 academic year, Ana Ferreira Rodrigues, a third-year student in the Bachelor’s Degree Course in Distribution and Logistics Management, was working on her Final Project in Logistic Systems, providing consultancy services for businesses within the framework of this Alto Minho 4.0 Project.
