Presentation
The CTeSP course in Works at Height and Rope Access aims to equip students with tools that allow them to design, plan, organise and monitor tasks involving working at height, as well as to use rescue techniques and moving objects in confined or hard-to-reach places (caves, trees, canyons, factory structures, etc.), participating in the management and maintenance of facilities and equipment. This is a two-year course, with a year and a half of classroom work and working in a laboratory context and a six-month internship in a business context, following international training benchmarks, namely the IRATA standards – Industrial Rope Access Trade Association, the leading association in the Rope Access market. Therefore, we can provide a broad set of skills to professionals in this area and offer a valuable service to the region and the country.

Access conditions
Who can apply:
- Candidates with a secondary education qualification or a legally equivalent qualification
- Holders of a Technological Specialisation Diploma or a Higher Professional Technical Diploma
- Holders of a higher education degree who wish to seek professional requalification
Candidates over the age of 23 who have passed the exams designed to assess their capacity for higher education attendance can also apply.
Special access contest
International applicants (applicants who do not hold Portuguese citizenship, are not citizens of a EU member state and are not family members of Portuguese or citizens of a EU member state, have not lived in Portugal continuously for more than two years as of 1 January of the application year, are not beneficiaries of equal rights and duties status granted under an international treaty as of 1 January of the application year and who are not applying for higher education admission through special admissions and special entry routes).
All foreign applicants must request the equivalence of their secondary education qualifications from their home country from a Portuguese secondary school. The equivalence of your certificate to Portuguese secondary education is a mandatory requirement for the application.

Aims
This course aims to equip students with tools that will allow them to design, plan, organise and monitor tasks involving working at height, as well as to use rescue techniques and move objects in confined or hard-to-reach places (caves, trees, canyons, factory structures, etc.), participating in the management and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
Graduate profile
- Managing and overseeing teams of technicians for sports activities or services involving working at height and rope access;
- Overseeing the required human and material resources to ensure the successful completion of designated tasks and activities;
- Planning and helping to select and size the right equipment for the proposed work and activities;
- Overseeing, assessing and streamlining the different tasks related to the activities and projects being undertaken;
- Planning practical activities, such as preparing the worksite, conducting risk assessments, installing anchor points and ties, lifelines, etc.;
- Developing and implementing risk planning for various activity and work locations;
- Planning and organising the implementation of the correct occupational health and safety standards in all tasks and activities undertaken, especially in activities involving working at height and rope access;
- Developing and implementing prevention and protection measures;
- Preparing and managing the necessary documentation for equipment registration and the development of company prevention;
- Planning and organising the information and training processes for workers and other stakeholders at the activity and work locations.
