The Postgraduate Course in Planning, Assessment and Performance in Trail Running comes in response to the increasing demand for specialised training in the area of outdoor sports, more precisely in an area that has a major competitive and interdependent performance component. Therefore, this specialised training course is based on sports training and on technical and scientific knowledge through the development of practical skills, making it possible for students to receive certification in all the aspects of mountain running.
The curricular structure, the organisation and the close links to sports training are an excellent alterative in terms of professional differentiation, but above all in the need for updating and specialisation.
This postgraduate course will make it possible to learn about and gain skills for professional operation and recognition in the assessment, planning and optimisation of Trail Running training.

Applications for the Postgraduate Course in Planning, Assessment and Performance in Trail Running will be accepted from:
The selection of candidates by the Scientific and Technical Council will take the following general criteria into account:
a) The candidate’s academic and scientific background.
b) The candidate’s professional background in Sports Science or similar areas, with particular relevance being given to proven professional experience in the area of athletics and sports clubs.

Learning and developing skills, mastering and autonomously and individually applying the different specific techniques for assessment, development and optimisation of performance in Trail Running, based on scientific knowledge and increasing training resources for athletes, prevention and recovery from injuries.

The aim of this specialised programme is to foster a strong component of know-how allied to scientific and professional expertise by building a bridge towards gaining academic qualifications, granting an equivalence of 30 credits from the entire study cycle of the Master’s Degree in Sports Training at the ESDL, IPVC.
