Apresentação
O Curso Técnico Superior Profissional em Turismo em Espaço Rural e de Natureza e Lazer tem como objetivo dotar os profissionais de competências aprofundadas e abrangentes para o desenvolvimento e implementação de serviços destinados a turistas e visitantes de estabelecimentos de turismo em espaço rural e de áreas de elevado valor natural e paisagístico. Desta forma, valoriza-se o património e os recursos naturais e culturais dos territórios, nomeadamente para as empresas de alojamento e animação turística, para o agroturismo e para o turismo de natureza e aventura, bem como para as organizações vocacionadas para a conservação da natureza e para o desenvolvimento sustentável destes territórios.

Who can apply:
- Candidates with a secondary education qualification or a legally equivalent qualification
- Holders of a Technological Specialisation Diploma or a Higher Professional Technical Diploma
- Holders of a higher education degree who wish to seek professional requalification
Candidates over the age of 23 who have passed the exams designed to assess their capacity for higher education attendance can also apply.

Objetivos
Aims
The Higher Professional Technical Course in Rural and Nature Tourism and Leisure is designed to equip professionals with in-depth and wide-ranging expertise to develop and implement services for tourists and visitors to rural tourism establishments and areas of high natural and scenic value. This enhances the heritage and the natural and cultural resources of the territories, particularly for accommodation and tourist entertainment companies, for agritourism and nature and adventure tourism, as well as for organisations focused on nature conservation and the sustainable development of these territories.
Perfil do diplomado
- Describing, presenting and explaining the main crops and crop techniques and the predominant agricultural and agroforestry systems to tourists.
- Coordinating events to showcase local products, particularly wine and food deeply rooted in regional heritage and traditions.
- Managing small rural tourism businesses, balancing financial sustainability with a firm commitment to ethical standards, environmental care and social responsibility.
- Planning tourism activities in rural environments and areas of high natural value, including agritourism activities, landscape and nature interpretation and observation (fauna, flora, geology), as well as nature and adventure sports.
- Coordinating and managing tours and onsite activities for tourists, handling both easily navigable areas and more challenging terrain responsibly and confidently.
- Managing accommodation units in rural areas, taking into account the main economic, financial and legal requirements.
- Holding tourist activities that continuously promote the well-being of tourists, prioritising their safety.
- Monitoring and coordinating routes in the territory using specific orientation methods and georeferencing systems, such as GPS.
- Formulating and applying market research strategies to enhance the visibility of the company’s tourist activities.
- Promoting responsible behaviour among tourists, closely connected to the natural environment.
- Developing, maintaining and promoting multimedia communication platforms in a lively and attractive manner, especially using currently available social media.
- Designing and implementing environmental education and awareness activities and recreational activities suitable for areas of high natural value.

The CTeSP in Rural and Nature Tourism aims to provide students with the skills to pursue professional activities in the following organisations:
- Rural Tourism Companies;
- Leisure and Experience Providers;
- Event Management Companies;
- Rural Development Organisations;
- Municipalities.
Prosseguimento de Estudos
Graduates of the CTeSP in Rural and Nature Tourism are eligible to pursue the following bachelor’s degree courses at IPVC without an entrance exam:
- Tourism (ESTG-IPVC);

- Veterinary Nursing (ESA-IPVC);
- Biotechnology (ESA-IPVC);
