Who can apply:
- Candidates with a secondary education qualification or a legally equivalent qualification
- Holders of a Technological Specialisation Diploma or a Higher Professional Technical Diploma
- Holders of a higher education degree who wish to seek professional requalification
Candidates over the age of 23 who have passed the exams designed to assess their capacity for higher education attendance can also apply.

International applicants (applicants who do not hold Portuguese citizenship, are not citizens of a EU member state and are not family members of Portuguese or citizens of a EU member state, have not lived in Portugal continuously for more than two years as of 1 January of the application year, are not beneficiaries of equal rights and duties status granted under an international treaty as of 1 January of the application year and who are not applying for higher education admission through special admissions and special entry routes).
All foreign applicants must request the equivalence of their secondary education qualifications from their home country from a Portuguese secondary school. The equivalence of your certificate to Portuguese secondary education is a mandatory requirement for the application.

Aims
The Higher Professional Technical Course (CTeSP) in Illustration and Graphic Production is designed to equip students with the skills to design and craft both illustrations and graphic communication materials. It combines the use of analogue and digital technologies while ensuring mastery of the integral technical nuances of print production. Its objectives also include preparing students to:
- Plan and develop an illustration project from creation to pre-printing.
- Research, collect and process relevant information in order to work independently and systematically.
- Design illustrations and graphic design for various mediums.
- Plan and produce graphic layouts of texts and images, with specific communication goals.
- Understand and use techniques and tools suitable for creating static or animated graphic communication objects.
- Oversee and refine the technical elements of graphic production, enhancing the stages of pre-press, printing and finishing.
- Apply analogue and/or digital techniques in the creation of illustrations and graphic objects, considering the project’s specifics and customer requirements.
- Produce 2D and 3D illustrations and animation using appropriate software.
- Prepare and present a project dossier.
Professional outcomes
Graduates of the CTeSP in Illustration and Graphic Production can pursue professional roles in a number of private and/or public contexts.
- Advertising Agencies.
- Graphic design and communication studios.
- 2D and 3D Drawing and Illustration.
- Publishing industry.
Continuing Studies
Graduates of the CTeSP in Illustration and Graphic Production can apply for the Bachelor’s Degree Course in Fine Arts and Creative Technologies at ESE/IPVC, without an entrance exam.
