Presentation
Families are currently faced with a number of political, socio-demographic and cultural changes, creating a need for effective training for the adoption of adaptive responses, particularly in the area of health/nursing.
To this end, several national and international organisations/bodies have recognised “the family nurse as a specialist in family health”, particularly the Ministry of Health (in point 2(e) of Order No. 200/2016, of 7 January), the Portuguese Nursing Association, the International Family Nursing Association and the World Health Organisation.
In this context, the IPVC School of Health decided to focus on the Postgraduate Course in Family Health Nursing, thus providing a response to the guidelines issued by the Directorate General for Health and the Ministry of Health (point 2(e) and Order No. 200/2016, of 7 January) and is structured based on the training programme approved by the Portuguese Nursing Association.
