Filipe Manuel Clemente is Assistant Professor at Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo, Escola Superior de Desporto e Lazer (Portugal), Director of Research Center in Sports Performance, Recreation, Innovation and Technology (SPRINT-IPVC) and researcher in Instituto de Telecomunicações, Delegação da Covilhã (Portugal). Filipe Manuel Clemente has a Ph.D. in Sport Sciences, Sports training in the Faculty of Sport Sciences and Physical Education from the University of Coimbra (2015, Portugal).The focus of the research is on sports training in the topics of athletic performance, fitness assessment and training monitoring, and training methodology. As scientific production, he has more than 300 articles published in journals indexed on JCR Web of Science (clarivate). In the 2021? list of the world?s most-cited scientists (Stanford, Elsevier), he is the 66th most-cited researcher in the sports sciences category (the most cited in Portugal). He is Top 0.04% in the expert escape list for the specific field of soccer (access on July 13, 2022) | 7th out of 17647 experts. Currently (October 19th, 2022), he presents a JCR Web of Knowledge h-index of 28 (citations 3319) and a Scopus h-index of 30 (citations 4086).He is head of the eMARC project granted by the European Commission in 2022 (ERASMUS+ small-scale partnership). He earned a FIFA scholarship in 2021 as head of the project. He was a member of a granted project associated with computational tactical metrics based on georeferencing technologies in sports (2016-2018). He also earned a research member an FCT grant for innovative didactics in universities (2014/2015). He is also a scientific consultant for JOHAN sports data analytics company (The Netherlands) and Football Connection company (Spain).
