Social Action Services
The mission of the Social Action Services of the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (SAS-IPVC) is to ensure equal access to higher education and lifelong learning as well as to social services that can help improve the students’ academic success.
SAS-IPVC are nationally recognized as innovative services that work closely with students and student associations to ensure the provision of high quality services that makes the difference for the students, especially the most vulnerable.

It is further informed that the fee to be charged is 10.00 euros, according to the Order of 30/07/2021 of the President of the IPVC.
Procedures in case of an accident
In case of an accident, the student must go to any health care facility with the accident report and the medical examination report.
The student must fill out the accident report with the following information:
Policyholder: IPVC Social Services
Victim: Student’s full identification
Circumstances of the accident: Description of the circumstances in which the accident occurred
Information about the accident relative to the victim and other information: Indicate the date and time of the accident, the authorities involved, hospitalization, tests performed, and insurance policies with other companies
Witnesses: Mention the witnesses of the accident (if any).
The injured student must date and sign the accident report.
The medical examination report must be filled out by the physician who examined the injured student, and the physician’s signature must be marked with a stamp of the entity where healthcare was provided.
The accident report and the medical examination report must be delivered to IPVC Social Action Services as soon as possible so that they may be submitted to the insurance company.
The injured student must then undergo the treatment prescribed by the physician.
When the student has finished the treatment, they must go to any healthcare facility with the discharge form, which must be filled out and signed by a physician with a stamp of the entity where healthcare was provided and delivered to IPVC Social Services.
